Imagine • Listen • Move • Respond • Create • Connect
Stories are meant to be experienced
A story may begin with one storyteller, but very quickly the whole room can become part of it. The audience might create the sounds of a forest, repeat a character's words, predict what happens next, step into a role, move with the story or help a character make a choice. Using voice, expression, movement, rhythm and audience participation, I create storytelling experiences that invite children and adults to do more than simply listen.
They imagine. They respond. They participate. They make connections.
What can you book Rohini for?
Whether you are planning a school incursion, library program, festival, community event or workshop, there are several ways to bring storytelling into your program.

Storytelling Sessions
Best for: Schools • Kindergartens • Libraries • Festivals • Family & Community Events
Flexible, interactive oral storytelling using voice, expression, movement, rhythm and audience participation.
Stories are drawn from folktales, traditional stories, picture books and original stories, and are adapted to suit the age, setting and audience.
With minimal props and visual aids, the focus stays on imagination, connection and the shared experience of storytelling.

Story Theatre Workshop
Best For: School Incursions • Book Week • Libraries • Festivals • Family Events
A more theatrical way to step inside a story.
Story Theatre combines oral storytelling with expressive narration, character voices, movement, simple props, visual elements and plenty of audience participation.
Each show is built around a particular story and designed as a complete interactive experience.

Creative Workshops for Children
Best For: Schools • Libraries • Holiday Programs • Enrichment Programs • Community Events
Move from listening to creating.
Hands-on workshops where children explore storytelling through movement, drama, voice, public speaking, imagination and creative writing.
Current workshops include:
Story Play • Voice It Out! • Story Makers

Workshops & Training for Adults and Educators
Best For: Educators • Librarians • Facilitators • Professionals • Community Groups • Organisations
Practical, participatory workshops for adults and professionals using storytelling as a tool for communication, creativity, confidence, reflection and connection.
Professional Development supports educators, librarians and facilitators with practical storytelling techniques they can use in classrooms, libraries and community programs.
Adult Workshops invite participants to explore voice, expression, communication and personal storytelling through supportive, hands-on experiences.
Current adult workshops include:
Find Your Voice with Storytelling • Stories That Shape Us.

Author Visits
Best For: Book Week • Literacy Celebrations • Schools • Libraries • Reading Programs
As both an author and storyteller, I can combine storytelling with an author talk or book-based session.
Children can hear a story performed or read aloud, explore how stories and characters are created, and ask questions about writing, illustrating and publishing.
Sessions can include conversations about where ideas come from, how a story grows from an idea into a book, and what it is like to work as an author and storyteller.
Author visits can be designed as standalone sessions or combined with storytelling, discussion and creative activities.
Find the right experience for your setting
Storytelling shaped for your setting
Every audience, space and occasion is different.
Whether I am visiting a school, performing at a library, or storytelling at a festival or community event, I adapt the experience to suit the age group, audience size, setting, available time and purpose of the program.
Schools & Kindergartens
School and kinder visits can be shaped around the age group, learning context and occasion — from a single class or year level to multiple sessions across the day.
Programs can also be curated for Book Week, Literacy Week, Harmony Week, Children’s Week, cultural celebrations and other special school events.
Where different age groups are involved, sessions can be adapted so each group has an experience that feels right for them.
Libraries, Festivals & Communities
Public and community programs often bring together a wider mix of ages, backgrounds and audiences.
Sessions can be adapted for regular library programs, school-holiday activities, family days, cultural celebrations, festivals, council events and larger public programs.
The format can be shaped around the space, audience flow, event theme and programming needs — including single sessions, repeated performances or storytelling created around a particular cultural celebration or community initiative.

Stories across Cultures & Languages
I have a particular love for folktales and traditional stories — stories that have travelled across generations, places and cultures. My repertoire includes stories from India and around the world, alongside contemporary stories and my own work as an author.
Storytelling can be curated around cultural celebrations and community programs, and sessions are available in:
English • Hindi • Bilingual Hindi–English
Through story, children and families can encounter different cultures, traditions and ways of seeing the world in an engaging and participatory way.
